With the acceleration of vaccination and Russia’s lifting of flight restrictions, the activity began in tourism, which collapsed in the pandemic.
Russians Have Great Interest
Ömer Niziplioğlu, President of the National Economic Think Tank (ULİKAD), who gave information about the mobility in the tourism sector, said, “The lifting of the Russian-Turkey flight restriction has increased the demand of Russian tourists for tourism destinations in our coastal regions. In particular, 140 charter flights are expected daily from 26 cities of Russia to Antalya and its surroundings. The season will be closed late this year, as the desired level could not be reached last year due to the negative pandemic. The progress of the flights in this perspective creates an expectation that more than 3 million tourists will come to our country from Russia.“
Vaccination Makes a Positive Contribution
Noting that vaccination has a significant impact on tourism, Niziplioğlu said, “We observe that the sector is in a specific recovery with the successful vaccination rate of the Ministry of Health in June. Vaccination amounts approaching 50 million doses and vaccination reaching up to the young population; it contributes to the mobilization of our sector and other related fields with the industry.
