The first settlement in Serik, which is about 40 km from Antalya city center, dates back to the 2nd century AD. Belek, which is in the coastal region, is one of the touristic places of the district, which has 22 kilometres of coastline. Belek is one of Turkey’s most important tourism destinations, especially sports and congress tourism. The population of the district, with a surface area of 1,550 km², is 129,418 according to 2019 data. Livestock and forestry are carried out in the mountainous regions, and agriculture is in the lowlands, especially vegetables.

Aspendos Theater in Serik, on the other hand, is the most robust  theater that has ever come from the ancient world. This magnificent amphitheater  was built in the 2nd century AD by Architect Zenon, the son of Theodoros from  Aspendos. The most important feature of the theater, which was restored during the  Seljuk period, is that it has excellent acoustics.
