According to the data of the Culture and Tourism Directorate, the total number of tourists coming to the city through the two airports in Antalya and Gazipaşa was 9 million 69 thousand 164 as of August 31. Compared to the same period of the previous year, there was an increase of 71 percent.
The increase in 2022 tourism data continues in Antalya, one of the most important tourism centers in the Mediterranean. According to the data obtained from Antalya Governorship Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, the number of tourists who visited the city by air between January 1 and August 31 exceeded 9 million.
The number of tourists coming by air to Antalya welcomes visitors in 12 months of the year with the sea, beaches, nature, historical and cultural values, was 9 million 69 thousand 164. Compared to the same period of the previous year, it increased by 71 percent. Antalya closed 2021 with 9 million tourists, exceeding 9 million in the first eight months of this year, capturing last year's data.
In the first eight months of the year, the most tourists came to Antalya from Germany with 1 million 797 thousand 56. Russia followed Germany with 1 million 795 thousand 333 tourists and England with 805 thousand 162 tourists.
