Demre district of Antalya hosted a different race for the first time.
'Sup Board Sprint Races' were organized with the contributions of Demre Municipality.
Turkey's first 'Sup Board Sprint Race' was in the Demre district. Nearly 200 athletes from many parts of Turkey, especially Russia, Ukraine, Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Çanakkale, Mersin and Muğla, participated in the races organized by the Paddletogether Turkey Sup Board Nework Club with the contributions of Demre Municipality. The competitions were on the 250-meter track inside the Demre Marina, and the infrastructure was completed. Hundreds of people watched the races.
In the races held in two branches, women and men, the first qualifying races were in groups of ten. The men and women who came first in their groups rowed in the final race. The contestants lined up in groups of ten in the races sit on the board. Then, the athletes who stand up with the signal are given to stand up quickly and start rowing on the 250-meter course. Ten female and ten male athletes competed in the final races. At the end of the races, Russian Oksana Dronova won first place in women, Eugenia Olefir from Ukraine won second place, and Sezin Güler won third place. Russian Nikolay Kornobay took the first place in men's, Yiğit Güler took the second place, and Serdar Çakır took the third place. The Municipality of Demre gave athletes who came first in the competitions a board team, a 100-minute drive was given to the second place by a company, and an 80-minute drive was given to the third place. In addition, various sports equipment were presented to the winners. Former national referee Cem Deda and Board Club President Orkun Küçükemiroğlu presented their awards to the top three athletes in the competition. (Ahmet Acar- DHA)
