Resident foreigners from different countries living in Antalya organized the 'Immigrants Festival and Photography Exhibition' event.
The festival was in Konyaaltı Municipality Feslikan Hall in cooperation with the Konyaaltı City Council Foreigners' Assembly and the Leader Women's Platform. The festival was accompanied by music concerts and folk dances in traditional clothes, attracting great interest from residents of Antalya and residents of Antalya.
To Meet and Engage
Speaking at the opening of the event, Zera Vareldzhi, chair of the City Council Foreigners' Assembly and Leader Women's Platform, said, "We organize various events to bring resident foreigners from different countries together, to meet with each other, to socialize and to be neighbors with the people of Antalya." Vareldzhi stated that they are happy to live in Antalya.
'We Become Neighbors, We Become Family'
Konyaaltı Municipality Council Member Hasan Hüseyin Ateşoğlu said, "We don't want to hear the word foreign anymore. We became neighbors and family with our friends from different countries and cultures." City Council Women's Council Chairperson Özlem Saday also praised the adaptation efforts of the Foreigners' Council.
World Songs Performed
After the speeches, the Foreigners Assembly Choir and local and foreign voice artists took the stage. In the concert, the most listened to and popular songs in Turkey, Italy, France, Russia, Ukraine, Crimea, Tatarstan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan were performed. The audience, which filled the hall, accompanied many songs in unison. After the performances of folk dance ensembles in colorful local costumes, a painting and photography exhibition was opened. Portrait photographs and stories of women who are leaders among resident foreigners in the exhibition attracted attention. (Yusuf Demir- DHA)
