The number of tourists who visited Antalya, which is the center of attention of tourists with its historical and natural beauties, cultural structures, ancient cities as well as its sea, sand and sun, between January 1 and May 31, was 3 million 405 thousand 458.
Passed the Year of Records
With this number, the best start of all time in terms of tourism continued in Antalya. In 2019, known as the 'year of records' in tourism, this figure was 3 million 309 thousand 285, 512 thousand 171 in 2020, 747 thousand 894 in 2021, and 2 million 422 thousand 349 in 2022. Tourism data for 2023 surpassed the total number of tourists visiting the city by air between January 1st and May 31st of 2021 and 2022.
The number of tourists visiting the city by air on 31 May was more than the sum of May 2021 and 2022. 1 million 593 thousand 935 tourists came to Antalya by air on 1-31 May.
German Tourists Retained Their Leadership
In terms of the number of tourists visiting Antalya by air in 2023, German tourists maintained their leadership in the ranking of nations. Between January 1 and May 31, the highest number of tourists came to Antalya from Germany with a rate of 26.32% and 827 thousand 618. Germany was followed by Russia with 24.92 percent and 783 thousand 737 tourists, followed by England with 11.20 percent and 352 thousand 184 tourists. The other countries that sent the most tourists to Antalya by air in the five-month period were Poland, Netherlands, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Israel, Belgium and Ukraine, respectively.
