The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality organizes the International Antalya Yoruk Turkmen Festival in May. Organized to understand, keep alive and preserve the Yoruk Culture and transfer it to future generations, the festival brings together Yoruks and Turkmens from all over Turkey and the world.
Independent Turkic Republics, Autonomous Turkic Republics and countries where Turks live or have historical ties participate in the International Antalya Yoruk Turkmen Festival, where the Turkish world meets.
The festival brings together thousands of Yoruks from Turkey and abroad, 'Yoruk Culture' is promoted in all its aspects, and enthusiastic events are also organized. The festival's opening is made with the 'Immigration Prayer' of the nomads. After the prayer, the representative 'Yoruk Migration' is performed. The streets of Antalya during the Yoruk Migration, where the camel caravans travel along the migration route, where the guest countries and Yoruk Associations are participating in the festival joining in their traditional clothes, are the scene of colourful scenes.
During the International Antalya Yoruk Turkmen Festival, where a cultural feast is experienced, many activities are carried out to keep the festival atmosphere alive. Exhibitions of photography, painting, ethnography and Turkish instruments are held. Many famous artists take the stage at the festival and present a musical feast with their concerts, making the participants spend hours full of joy. In addition, during the day-long activities, the Yoruk weather is performed. Folk dance performances from the Turkish World are held. The festival attracts excellent attention from the citizens of Antalya and the surrounding cities and foreign tourists visiting the city.
