Beydaglari Coastal National Park

Beydağları Coastal National Park, starting from Antalya's Sarısu Region, follows the first mountain range extending parallel to the Mediterranean Sea and extends to Gelidonya Cape within the borders of the Kumluca district. The area was declared a national park in 1972. It is 31,165,88 hectares. The young Beydağları, which form the Western Taurus Mountains, is mainly composed of serpentine and limestone in terms of rock.
 
The red pine forests in the coastal areas of the area have a very rich plant diversity, leaving their places to cedar and black pine forests as they rise. In the national park, among the endemic species that grow only in this region; There are about a thousand plant species such as gum tree, sandalwood, laurel, rosary and wild olive.
 
In Beydağları Coastal National Park, many living species are encountered. Besides land mammals such as bears, wolves, foxes, wild goats, lynx, squirrels and porcupines, predators such as the imperial eagle. Mediterranean monk seals can be seen on the coasts, albeit rarely. The habitat of 3 endemic butterflies is in the park, and the Lycian Salamander is one of the endemic species endemic here. Tekirova and Çıralı Beaches, where Caretta Carettas lay eggs, special protection.
 
The park is famous for its magnificent natural beaches and coves. It includes historical sites that shed light on history, apart from its rich flora and fauna. In the national park located in the Ancient Lycian Region, there are the ancient cities of Idyros, Olympos, Phaselis and Chimera (Yanartaş), the unquenchable fire of Lycia. In addition, Adrasan Harbor and Gagai are historical settlements that must be seen.
