Beydağları

The Beydağları, which forms the western extension of the Taurus Mountains, the famous mountain range of the Mediterranean Region, and extends parallel to the bay, contains many mountains and hills with heights varying between 600 meters and 3068 meters.

Beydağları, in the young mountain belt of the Western Taurus Mountains, consists of limestone and serpentine rocks due to the geological structure.
Surrounded by the Akçay and Alakır Stream Valleys in the south and east, the Elmalı Plateau in the west and the Korkuteli Plain in the north. Beydağları has the distinction of being one of the most striking corners of the Mediterranean Region with complex geomorphology, proximity to the sea, and the history and natural treasures it hides on the foothills.

Beydağları, which is very rich in wildlife, is a priority region, especially for raptor species. In addition to birds such as the Bearded Vulture, Rock Eagle, and the endangered King Eagle, mammals such as wild goat, lynx, fox, wild boar, deer, rabbit, marten, and the endemic rock sleeper are among the species living in the region.

These mountain ranges' southern and eastern slopes, covered with dense vegetation, are covered with prosperous maquis plant communities and abundant stone pine and red pine. At higher elevations, larch and cedar trees are found.

When it comes to Beydağları, the first activity that comes to mind is mountaineering. Offering the opportunity to climb many mountains and hills, Beydağları stands out as a spot preferred by many sportsmen interested in mountaineering outside the city and locals. Beydağları National Park, which is within the boundaries of Kemer district and forms an essential part of Beydağları, stands out as an important tourism center where you can do all kinds of sea sports, picnic, camping, cycling and hiking activities.
