Oymapınar Dam

Oymapınar Dam is north of the two dams built on the Manavgat River. It is 18 km from the town of Manavgat. The dam was established to meet the electricity needs of the Seydişehir Aluminum Factory has been operating since 1984.
 
The concrete arch type dam is considered one of the largest dams in Turkey, with a body volume of 575,000 cubic meters, length of 360 meters and height of 185 meters.
 
The dam was built in a narrow valley. It is described as an engineering marvel with an imposing appearance. When you go from Manavgat, you reach the dam lake on the right side of the dam, which welcomes visitors in all splendor. Above, there is a tunnel carved into the mountain. There is a viewing terrace at the tunnel exit where you can watch the dam lake and the body. Here, you can admire the emerald green water and nature waiting for you in all generosity.
 
At the bottom of a 180-meter cliff, with steep rocks and a narrow valley, the dam lake reaches 100 meters in depth. It welcomes thousands of guests every year with an exciting view. "Green Canyon" tours with excursion boats are organized in Oymapınar Dam Lake. In the canyon, surrounded by greenery, you can see the various fish and the creatures living in the environment with a very calm and peaceful atmosphere. At the same time, you explore the clear waters of the lake and the incredible natural beauties of the Taurus Mountains, accompanied by the lake view. Swimming in the lake can be a delightful experience. In the middle of the dam, which welcomes nature lovers, especially during the tourism season, there is the Dumanlı Spring, the longest underground river in the world.
 
The region has high tourism potential. Tourism activities are carried out in different fields such as geomorphology, botany, ornithology, mountain biking, jeep safari, agro-tourism and water sports tourism.
