Göktepe Highland

Göktepe Highland of Akseki is 32 km from the district center. The highland is a place for the local people to escape from the heat in the summer. It is also frequently visited by nature lovers. Yörüks living in Saraçlı Village in the Manavgat district are other guests of the highland.

The dirt roads of the highland at an altitude of 2,200 meters are usually closed in winter due to snowfall. Sheep and goats are bred in the highland, which increases in summer.

During your visit to the highland, you can come across belts called 'Kolan', one of the most precious examples of the handcraftsmanship of the Nomads. At the looms set up in the camps, some Yörük women earn their living by producing wide belts made of cotton, wool and bristle yarns. This valuable art can be considered the nomads' legacy. It is used in animals' harnesses, transport vehicles such as saddlebags and baskets, headdresses, ornaments for camels and horses, women's clothes, ties of clothes for children, and children's swaddles.

Göktepe Highland, with its untouched nature, cool air, and calm atmosphere, becomes a paradise for those seeking peace in the summer months.
