Zeytintaşı Cave

Zeytintaşı Cave is in the southeast of Gökçeler District of Akbaş Village, 15 km north of Serik district of Antalya. Located on the southern slope of Zeytinlitaş Hill, the cave is 54 km from Antalya, 16 km from Serik, and 10 km from Aspendos.

Found by chance in 1997 with an artificial gallery opened due to the operation of a quarry and declared a 'Natural Monument' in 2013, Zeytintaşi Cave has significantly contributed to the region's tourism potential since the day it was opened.

It is estimated to have been formed in about a million years. The karst cave is divided into small halls and chambers by stalactite columns. The cave's depth, which has war and humid air, is 14 meters.

The length of the upper floor of the cave consists of two floors connected. It is 136 meters with side corridors, and the lower floor is 97 meters long. The lower floor of the cave is closed to visitors to protect it from destruction. The interior of Zeytintaşı Cave is a living cave. It is covered with shapes still forming, such as travertine, soda sticks, popcorn, flowstone, flag travertine and helictic. The ponds located between the large columns make the appearance of the cave even more enjoyable.

The cave is estimated to have been formed a million years. It draws attention, especially with its pasta stalactites ranging from 5 cm to 70 cm in length in all parts. The hall where the pasta stalactites continue to develop today is called the 'Spaghetti Hall'. With these unique characteristic formations, which are impossible to see in every cave in our country, Zeytintaşı Cave gains a special value. The 'Chandelier Hall' consists of hundreds of delicate and crystalline stalactites that is breathtakingly beautiful.

You can visit the cave, which attracts great attention with its fascinating atmosphere, jewel-like columns, stalactites, stalagmites and all kinds of dripstones, accompanied by a guide, and witness an unforgettable visual feast.

The cave's environment gives peace and relief to people with its air and nature. It has untouched and natural beauties. After visiting the cave, you can go hiking, climbing and safari tours and wildlife watching in the vicinity.
