Ahmetler Canyon

Ahmetler Canyon is preferred by those who want to take a chilly break from the scorching heat of the Mediterranean due to its nature resembling a lush oasis. It is in the Ahmetler District of Manavgat district of Antalya.

Ahmetler Canyon has a length of 12 km through which Karpuz Stream passes. It is fed by cold water springs from the Taurus Mountains is the third deepest canyon in Turkey, with a depth of 400 meters in places. The canyon does not see the sun due to its high, which is quite chilly.

Ahmetler Canyon creates a diverse and rich ecosystem in terms of fauna and flora, where wildlife is present. You are likely to encounter predators, different bird and reptile species.

The canyon is a frequent destination for those who love nature sports. It offers guests an adrenaline-filled adventure. While the 5km section at the canyon entrance consists of narrow paths and dirt roads, the remaining 7km is covered with steep slopes, waterfalls, rolling hills, long waterways, sinkholes and caves. Crossing the corridors formed by little rocks while walking in the canyon is difficult, but it can be enjoyable.

When you explore the upper parts of the canyon, you can see the ruins of two old mills where the neighbouring villages around Ahmetler used to grind flour until recently. Inaltı Cave develops under the village settlement area within the canyon. It is also important because it is a living and active cave.
