Ağalar Mosque

Ağalar Mosque is in Barbaros District of Aksu district of Antalya.

The most striking feature of the mosque is on the Perge Ancient City road. It was built with block stones brought from the Perge Ancient City in the Ottoman Period, approximately at the beginning of the 1800s, some of them with ancient writings. In constructing the mihrab inside the mosque and the mihrab outside, the door entrance and windows are blocks from the Roman Imperial Age. They were used as beams in the Ancient City of Perge structures and still have Latin inscriptions.

Ağalar Mosque has survived to this day and managed to defy the years. It is considered one of the few mosques in Turkey with its craftsmanship technique and materials used in its construction, design and architecture.

Ağalar Mosque, whose minaret and dome were damaged in time and could not be used. It was restored in 2016 and opened to worship again.
