Antalya Marine Biology Museum

Turkey's first Marine Biology Museum was established in 2014 to introduce the colorful underwater life of Turkey and the Mediterranean to Antalya residents and tourists. To see the endangered sea creatures closely, ensure that the broader masses understand Turkey's biological riches and adopt the marine culture. Since then, it has hosted visitors from all age groups in the old two-floor PTT building in Kaleiçi Marina.
 
In the museum, which is built on an area of ​​approximately 100 square meters, nine species of sharks, ten species of flat sharks, approximately 150 species of bony fish, crustaceans, sponges, corals, shrimp, lobster and crabs, squid, octopus and mollusks, starfish and sea urchins are exhibited in the museum. Nearly 500 species of sea creatures, all living on Turkish seas, are on display.
 
Antalya Marine Biology Museum, which invites visitors to witness the colorful and fascinating world under the seas with extraordinary design, special lighting, creative decor and exotic atmosphere that will allow you to isolate yourself from the current world, entertains and also teaches and informs, mainly draws the attention of children and school student groups.
 
The museum, which increases the species diversity day by day, provides information about endemic and Red Sea origin marine creatures under protection. Many activities such as training, panels, workshops, conversations, and exhibitions are carried out to keep the marine culture alive, protect the natural heritage, and draw attention to climate change.
