Serik is approximately 40 km away from the city center of Antalya. It is surrounded by Aksu in the west, Manavgat in the east, Burdur and Isparta in the north, and the Mediterranean Sea in the south.

The district's history dates back to the 2nd century. The first settlement was established in the Ancient City of Sillyon and Aspendos, which was in Pergamon's Kingdom. The district has hosted various civilizations throughout history. It gave its name to the tribe called Serikli or Serüklü, according to the written sources of the Ottoman Period. Serik gained the status of a district in 1926 after the proclamation of the Republic.

Serik's economy is based on tourism and agriculture. Vegetables, fruits, and ornamental plants, especially cloves, are cultivated in the plains of the district, animal husbandry and forestry are carried out in the mountainous regions. Serik Pear (Zingit) has a limited distribution in Turkey and was under the threat of extinction for a period. It is among the important values ​​of the district.

Serik preserves its unique culinary culture. It is possible to taste many local delicacies such as nehli, ear soup, keskek, milky slurry, millet soup, and big tarhana.

Serik embraced its traditional culture and managed to pass it on to future generations. It is remembered for our ancestral sport, wrestling. Large-scale oil wrestling organizations are held every year in the district, which has trained many wrestlers and is known as the "Land of Wrestlers".

Serik has a 22 km coastline. It has a lively atmosphere due to its proximity to Antalya city centre. The district is home to Belek, one of the most important destinations in Turkey in terms of sea, sports, congress and meeting tourism, and a world-renowned tourism resort with its modern facilities and luxury resorts. In addition to Belek, Boğazkent has a unique beach and sea. Kadriye Town is one of the first places to consider SPA tourism. They are among the holiday destinations of the district. In addition, the beaches of Serik covered with fine sand are among the most important nesting areas of sea turtles on the Mediterranean coast.

Serik, with its historical and cultural beauties, welcomes thousands of local and foreign tourists every year.
